FIFE LAKE – The Forest Area Community Schools Board of Education is going with the mantra of “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” after voters defeated a bond proposal earlier this year.

FACS voters will again head to the polls to decide the fate of a $4.5-million proposition during upcoming elections on Tuesday, Nov. 7. According to ballot language, if approved, the proposal would allow the school district to issue general obligation bonds for the purposes of funding including the following projects:

Erecting, furnishing and equipping additions to school buildings

Remodeling, equipping and re-equipping and furnishing and re-furnishing school buildings

Erecting, furnishing and equipping a new concession stand at the high/middle school

Purchasing school buses

Preparing, developing and improving and equipping athletic fields and the facilities and sites.
