Ellsworth girls back in state finals, area individuals also qualify
EAST JORDAN — The Ellsworth girls cross country team is back in the Division 4 state finals for the fifth year in a row.
The Lady Lancers earned their spot on Saturday with a second-place finish at the regional meet. With three runners finishing among the top 10, Ellsworth was able to score 35 points, finishing just behind regional champion Johannesburg-Lewiston, which scored 28. Inland Lakes also qualified as a team and finished third with 79. Central Lake’s girls were fourth with 98.
Ellsworth’s boys team took fourth with 118 points. Petoskey St. Michael won the regional with 36 points.
