Ellsworth, Central Lake and eight individuals advance from pre-regional

MANCELONA — Ellsworth’s boys and girls teams, Central Lake’s girls team and eight individuals were all part of the crew of cross country runners who qualified for the Division 4 regional at East Jordan on Oct. 31 at the pre-regional race on Thursday in Mancelona.

The top four teams and the top seven individuals not on a qualifying team were eligible to compete at the regional on Halloween.

Ellsworth’s girls scored 19 points to finish first and Central Lake’s girls scored 40. Ellsworth’s boys scored 46 points to finish second to a dominant Petoskey St. Michael team that scored 22. Boyne Falls (73) and Alanson (78) also earned a trip to the regional.
