Elk Rapids wins Lake Michigan golf title

HARBOR SPRINGS — A fourth-place finish for the Elk Rapids golf team in the Lake Michigan Conference Championships last Monday would normally be nothing to cheer about. Tallying the totals from the five meets in the weather abbreviated conference schedule gave the Elks the conference title by one stroke over Charlevoix. In the final meet, played at Harbor Point in Harbor Springs, Caleb Widmaier (86), Gage Vowels (88) combined with Jack Hawkins, Preston Ball and Brenton Drake (all shooting a 90) to tally a 354.
