Elk Rapids’ Hammond heading to nationals

TRAVERSE CITY — Sunday will be the biggest day in Annie Hammond’s seven-year gymnastics career.

The Elk Rapids High School sophomore is competing at the USA Gymnastics Eastern National Championships in Lansing where she will be going against some of the top gymnasts in the United States.

Hammond, a member of the Water’s Edge Gymnastics program out of Traverse City, qualified for the national meet after earning a top seven overall finish at the regional in Indianapolis.
