Eagles start new season with strong outing

BELLAIRE — A lot has changed since the Bellaire girls basketball team played its last game — a state championship game contest against Fowler in early April.

Mainly, five seniors who were vital to the Eagles’ championship game run, along with a wealth of success in the previous three seasons too, all graduated.

But with six players returning from that squad, including Jacey Somers and Charlie Boyce, the Eagles got the new campaign under way in familiar fashion on Wednesday, Dec. 1, looking crisp in a 58-8 victory against Ellsworth.
