Eagles roll in bowling conference opener

TRAVERSE CITY — Up against a measuring stick bowling program to open the season, Bellaire took care of business, defeating TC Christian, 19-11, Saturday to open Great Northwest High School Bowling Conference play.

The Eagles jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead after sweeping both baker games.

“We put a huge emphasis on baker games,” Bellaire coach Michael Smith said. “We practice them every day. That early lead can really set the tone for the rest of the match, and that was the case against TC Christian.”

Junior Brady Hoogerhyde and junior rookie Matthew Lapardo-Lovett swept both of their games. Senior Troy Przybyszewski won a critical point in the second regular game, and the Eagles took the second game by 85 pins to secure the overall win.
