Eagles put up a fight in regional volleyball loss to Leland

BEAR LAKE — The final outcome was an all-too-familiar one for the Bellaire volleyball team.

But the Eagles pushed regional nemesis Leland to the brink like they never had previously, before falling to the Comets 3-0 in a Division 4 regional semifinal contest on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

It was the sixth time Leland was the team to eliminate the Eagles in the past eight years — each time coming in the regional round of the postseason.

Bellaire dropped the opening game 25-15, but the Eagles came out confident and playing strong, sticking with the Comets neck and neck in the first half of the set as the two teams exchanged leads and forged multiple ties.
