Eagles get first taste of volleyball action

BELLAIRE — The Bellaire volleyball team dove headfirst into the 2020 season this week, hosting a tri-match with Pickford and Charlevoix on Friday and a quad with Alpena, Boyne City and East Jordan on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

The tough competition challenged the Eagles on both days as Bellaire split two four-set matches at Friday’s tri and took one out of three tight matches at the opening quad.

On Friday Bellaire bounced back from an early loss in set one against Pickford to win 19-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-21. The tables turned on the Eagles against Charlevoix, which Bellaire beat 25-21 in the first set, but fell in the next three, 18-25, 15-25, 14-25.
