County races take shape as filing deadline passes
KALKASKA — With an election looming, more than 20 individuals tossed their names in the proverbial hat in seeking various positions up for grabs this fall.
According to the Kalkaska County Clerk’s Office, 21 county residents beat the 4 p.m. filing deadline on April 21 and will compete in the August primary and November general elections this fall.
Most of the competition is over the seven seats on the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners, where all but one current board member filed to seek re-election.
