Community dinner brings neighbors together
CENTRAL LAKE — Chris and Merrie Corbett had a dinner party Sunday afternoon and invited everyone to come.
More than 600 people attended the community dinner at the Blue Pelican Inn in downtown Central Lake, which in its third year is fast becoming an annual area tradition.
Watching as diners filled plates from the sumptuous buffet offering of roast turkey, ham, and all the fixings, several side dishes, and a special treat of New England clams and shrimp slathered with Eastern Shore Old Bay spice, all served absolutely free of charge, Chris Corbett said, "It's nice to see everyone come out and enjoy a nice dinner together, some of whom may not ordinarily get out to eat very often or have anyone else to enjoy a good meal with. Especially at Christmas."
