Commissioners discuss bond sale, RV park property line issue
BELLAIRE — During a relatively short meeting of only four hours in length last week, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners took care of several routine business matters, approved a motion to authorize the sale of bonds for a new Road Commission garage in Central Lake and heard from two Milton Township property owners who believe that part of the work on the proposed RV park in Torch River is being done on their land.
Speaking during public comment, Dan Welles told the board that recent work to remove all of the trees on the west side of the park near Miller Road, build a construction road, and fill a ditch was actually being done on his property.
Welles sent an email 10 days earlier to multiple people voicing his concerns about the property lines and the work being done. He asked that the work be slowed down until his questions could be answered — he felt he had not received adequate responses from that request — and said construction equipment had appeared two days earlier and work to remove trees had begun.
