Commissioners approve $15 million budget
BELLAIRE — During its regularly scheduled business meeting of Thursday, Oct. 1, conducted via Facebook Live with some attendees attending from the Antrim County building, Antrim County's nine-member Board of Commissioners approved a $15 million budget for county services for 2021.
Expenditures of $15,324,274 were estimated for all of the county's expenses in 2021, with revenues of $13,742,428, which will leave the county with an estimated shortfall of approximately $1,581,846.
That amount will be taken, if needed, from the county's general fund, leaving the county in good stead with a general fund balance of $10,535,033.
By far and away the county's largest expense, as always, is expected to be the Sheriff's Office, which was allotted an estimated budget of $4,234,319 for 2021, which does not include the budgets of the office's Jail, Animal Control or Marine Patrol, which were allotted budgets of $413,943, $248,001, and $135,181, respectively.
