Central Lake resident proposing Central Lake to Bellaire non-motorized trail
CENTRAL LAKE - A retired nurse and teacher, Maggie Maul is a dedicated runner, biker, and outdoor enthusiast who with her husband Rob Tyler, current Central Lake Village Council president, is also active in the community of Central Lake and helped to create the village's popular North Street hiking trail on the northwest end of town several years ago.
Always interested in seeing people embrace healthy lifestyles, with a passion for enriching and promoting the village of Central Lake as well, it seemed only natural, after the success of the now popular Central Lake trail, for the Central Lake resident to wonder if it would be possible to create a non-motorized biking and hiking trail connecting Central Lake with the village of Bellaire.
"The idea was actually a collaboration between myself and Jennifer Hodges from Gourdie Fraser and Associates, who is the municipal specialist engineer for both Central Lake and Bellaire," Maul said earlier this week. "We saw it as part of a long-term planning process to promote community development in our area."
