Central Lake Lioness Club to celebrate 40th anniversary

CENTRAL LAKE – Forty years ago this week, the newly formed Central Lake Lionesses held its original Charter Night banquet on Oct. 5, 1977.

New Lionesses Jo-Ann Kotwick and Dee LaBeau, the civic organization's third vice-president, attended that banquet.

And they are both still active Lionesses today.

"Our club was the first Lioness club in northern Michigan," Kotwick said proudly. "Dee's husband, Bob, the Central Lake Lion's "King Lion" at the time, helped Linda Richardson and Christine Bachmann, who actually chartered the club, to get started."
