Central Lake emerges with victory in physical battle

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth boys basketball coach Jarod Steenwyk calls the matchup between his squad and Central Lake a football game on the basketball court.

As physical as the boys hoops game was on Monday in Ellsworth, Steenwyk’s description was right on the money.

Central Lake (1-1) was able to outmuscle Ellsworth (3-1) and pull out a 55-45 win in a game where the style of play resulted in both teams battling foul trouble.
