KALKASKA – The scouts of local Cub/Boy Scouts Troop No. 629 are helping make sure that the losses and heroism of Americans during the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and over the skies of Pennsylvania in 2001 are not forgotten.

The scouts will again be helping host a 9-11 Memorial Service from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Railroad Square in downtown Kalkaska, near the Trout Monument.

“We should have all the local first responders there and represented,” said local scout leader Kevin Crawford. “The Boy Scouts will be there for the flag ceremony.”

Crawford added that various officials will also be speaking as part of the memorial service.
