BELLAIRE — During a rescheduled evening meeting on Thursday, Dec. 23, the Antrim County Board of Commissioners finished up the business year and set the table for the new year ahead with several agreements, which included ratifying a three-year agreement with the Sheriff's Department.

The final agreement with the Sheriff's Department, which was accomplished with three motions, was made after the Board went into closed session for collective bargaining contract negotiations, which took less than an hour. Agreements with the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police, Police Officers Association, and 911 Dispatch were also approved. Commissioner Ed Boettcher, attending from home via Zoom, noted that, during the union negotiations, it had been agreed that Sheriff's Department employees would be invited to comment on plans for new facilities.

Motions for a four-year agreement with the Antrim Conservation District, two-year agreement between the Commission On Aging and Northern Health Care Management were also approved, as was a short-term agreement with Jordan Township for winter tax collection and an agreement between the Antrim County Airport and Michigan Department of Transportation.
