Blazers turn up the pressure to beat Kingsley in opener

KALKASKA — Two years ago the Kalkaska boys basketball team turned up the pressure on defense.

While last year’s squad was a scaled back version of the Blazers’ full court pressing style, it appears they have reverted to their old ways again this season.

Led by a suffocating press that forced numerous, quick turnovers, Kalkaska was able to win its season opener, defeating Kingsley 67-59 on Monday.
