Blazers, Elks take part in LMC Quad

ELK RAPIDS — The Kalkaska boys track team won three of four relay events to propel the Blazers to a second-place finish out of four teams on Monday at the Elk Rapids Quad.

The Blazers were first in the 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 — part of seven firsts for Kalkaska on the day.

Traverse City St. Francis won the meet with 63 points, with the Blazers right behind with 60. Boyne City scored 53 and Elk Rapids had 52.

The girls meet was even closer in the dash for first, with St. Francis edging Boyne City 102.5-101.5. Kalkaska scored 14 and Elk Rapids 6.
