Big day for McClure, Alfred at Mancelona Invite

MANCELONA — Seniors Tyler McClure and Jayden Alfred each recorded a pair of first-place finishes to lead the Mancelona boys track team and Friday’s Mancelona Invitational.
McClure was first in the 800 (2:05.96) and the 3,200 (10:27.34), while also picking up a second-place finish in the 1,600 (4:40.49). Alfred won both sprinting events, taking the 100 in 11.51 and the 200 in 23.36. He also placed second in the high jump (6-2) and the long jump (20-1.5).
Mancelona’s team finished in third place with 74 points. Kingsley was first with 145. Forest Area was 11th with 14 points, Ellsworth took 12th with 10 points and Bellaire took 13th with 9 points.
