Bellaire softball team drastically different this year

BELLAIRE — The Bellaire softball team went from one end of the gamut to the other since last year.

After fielding an extremely inexperienced team in 2017, the Eagles have a roster with a great deal of experience as they try to rebound from a tough season a year ago. Not only do the Eagles have more experience but the roster is a little larger, giving the squad multiple options at many positions.

“I have five more girls than we had last year, which is huge,” said Bellaire head coach Katie Verellen. “We only ended up with 10 girls last year. It was rough. Most games I had just enough to play, and we were very, very young. I only graduated one senior.”
