Bellaire picks up first win in triumph over Central Lake-Ellsworth

CENTRAL LAKE — Get athletes in space and let them go to work.

That was the strategy Bellaire took into Saturday’s rivalry football game against Central Lake-Ellsworth and it worked to perfection in the Eagles’ 44-28 win against the Trojans.

“From what we saw on film we thought if we could get the ball out short and get into space that our overall speed was going to be an advantage,” said Bellaire coach Brock Robinson. “Then, once they came up, we could hit a few over the top and that’s kind of how it worked out.”
