Blue Lake Township Fire Department trucks park outside the fire hall. It’s been a busy year for the local department. In the past 12 months it has had seven firefighters become Michigan state FFI and FFII with hazardous material certified. They’ve also had six firefighters become state certified in Vehicle extrication. Additionally, there have been two firefighters who have obtained state certification in flash over and forcible entry training, and firefighter who completed her EMT class to become a state licensed EMT, with two other firefighters currently in a medical class.
