Area schools ready for start of overdue hoops season
REGION — Some is better than none.
That’s how area boys and girls basketball players, coaches and fans are looking at what will be an abbreviated 2021 high school hoops season, with practices potentially beginning at the end of this week and games occurring just a handful of days later.
If the season does indeed commence it will finally get going a winter sports calendar that was barely able to get off the ground two months ago before state coronavirus restrictions halted high school sports. Since then, everyone has taken a wait and see approach as to when everything can resume while following guidelines and health protocols.
