Area school administrators react to Governor's announcement to close schools

REGION — Area public school administrators reacted to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's announcement that all public schools in Michigan are closed for the rest of the current school year by announcing plans to begin developing long range at-home student education programs.

In a video broadcast on YouTube, Central Lake Public Schools Superintendent Lenore Weaver noted that although "not unexpected," the governor's announcement was a heavy blow.

"It's hard to understand — I'm still trying to get my head around it," she said in the video.
