Antrim County Commission

on Aging (COA) is accepting Letters of Interest to Contract for Snow Removal at private senior residences in various locations throughout Antrim County - as a service to qualified seniors from Nov. 1, 2022 through April 15, 2023. Letters of Interest must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022. Interested parties must fill out and return a Request for Criminal History for each person who will be involved in providing direct services to the seniors prior to Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022. Criminal History forms are available in person, by mail, fax, or email from the COA office and are a requirement to qualify for consideration at the Sept. 1 Antrim County Board of Commissioners meeting. Those contractors selected by the Commission on Aging Board of Advisors will be paid $30 per snow removal when using a plow only or $40 per snow removal using a plow or snowblower and shoveling/blowing one pathway to door and clearing the mailbox (maximum ½ hour per client) following each 4” minimum of new snow accumulation. If the senior does not want their walkway and/or mailbox cleared and chooses no additional snow removal on the application, the contractor utilizing a snowblower will be paid $30 per snow removal on driveway only. It is understood that one company/business or individual cannot serve all areas requiring service. Therefore, contracts will be let to more than one contractor to satisfy geographical location requirements.
