‘Light Up the Night’ to kick off holiday season this weekend

BELLAIRE – The village of Bellaire will welcome the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 2 with a full schedule of events for all enjoy during the 8th Annual “Light Up the Night” celebration, which also includes the popular "Soup Cook-Off."

The celebration will begin at 9 a.m. in the Antrim County Senior Center with a holiday craft fair and gift show featuring local vendors from throughout the area. Participants can also enjoy a box lunch until 1 p.m. The lunch includes a sandwich, chips, drink and cookie for $5. Lunches can be consumed on the premises or taken "to go." At 11 a.m., noted local poet and author Leland James will read his new book, "A Mice Christmas," recommended for children ages 5-12 as well as adults, at the Bellaire Library. His presentation will include on-screen illustrations.
