KALKASKA — The howls and cheers of crowds, racers, and dogs filled the Kalkaska County Fairgrounds February 15th and 16th, for the 2020 Kalkaska Winterfest. The free weekend event attracted participants and spectators from all over the country.
KALKASKA – While Kalkaska Winterfest will attract approximately 150 sled dog teams for the annual races on Feb. 23-24, the festival will also feature another specialized canine athletic event for community spectators to enjoy.
KALKASKA – With unseasonably warm weather reaching the low-40s across the region, many local residents enjoyed the pleasant spring-like conditions during the first weekend of January.
KALKASKA – Kalkaska Winterfest has been pushed back because of unexpected warm weather in January. Originally scheduled for Jan. 20 and 21, the festivities are now rescheduled for Feb. 17 and 18.
