ALBA – Although other areas, like Kingsley and Kalkaska, have been in the news recently regarding applications for commercial medical marijuana facilities, Antrim County is not being ignored by those interested in starting marijuana businesses.
ELMIRA – Antrim County bar owner Larry Sevenski will not serve any jail time for his July felony conviction on charges of resisting, obstructing and assaulting an officer.
ECHO TOWNSHIP – Two signs proclaiming the imminent appearance of a much-promoted "glampground" in Echo Township have been removed. Instead, a locked gate and several "No Trespassing" signs mark the location where the glorified camping resort was to have been located.
ELMIRA – Pending the final approval of the Antrim County Board of Commissioners, American Waste is hoping to build a $2 million waste transfer and recycling plant in Antrim County’s Warner Township.
And as Larry Sevenski hung his head in dejection, and members of the audience offered emotional responses to the verdict, one member of the four-woman, eight-man jury said to himself, “This isn’t right.”
ECHO TOWNSHIP – With a unanimous vote, Echo Township became the 11th and final Antrim County township to join a lawsuit challenging an energy company’s efforts to have property tax valuations lowered on 63 properties throughout the county.
