MILTON TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old Grand Rapids woman was sent to Munson Medical Center with life threatening wounds after being shot following a dispute at the Torch Lake boat launch on the south end of Torch Lake on Tuesday.

The victim and her boyfriend were at the launch loading a paddle boat around 8 p.m., according to the Antrim County Sheriff’s Department when a 36-year-old female from Fenton, Mo., began attempting to back her boat trailer into the water to load a boat that she and her family had been using on the water. An argument ensued over the use of the boat ramp and words were exchanged. That continued until both parties approached one another as if ready to engage in a fight, and the alleged shooter pulled a small caliber gun and shot the victim. The bullet hit the victim’s arm and then went through her chest area and out the back.
