Wilkinson is top player from memorable girls basketball season

REGION — The numbers and the accolades put Kalkaska’s Makenzie Wilkinson in rare company.

School records in rebounding and blocks.

More than 1,000 points scored.

Four times an All-Lake Michigan Conference pick.

Twice Class B All-State.

Wilkinson heads off to Davenport in the fall, where she will suit up for a Panthers program transitioning to the Division II level. But she gave everyone in the area one last showcase of her abilities in the 2017-18 season and on a nightly basis she didn’t disappoint, often dominating games with her versatility, skills, athleticism, power and killer instinct.
