Wilkinson matches three-point record in Kalkaska victory
MANCELONA — Makenzie Wilkinson knew one thing in Monday night’s game with Mancelona — she was scorching hot from beyond the three-point arc.
Wilkinson drained eight threes on just 13 attempts, tying a school record for threes made in a game, in Kalkaska’s 60-24 girls basketball victory over Mancelona. Wilkinson said she was unaware of the record as the game was going on and she kept drilling long-range shots.
“I actually found out after our game in the locker room,” she said. “It feels great to accomplish and tie the record this year. My perimeter shots were just going in throughout the whole game, so when I was open I shot the ball. It’s just a great feeling when you are on during a game.”
