Vote ‘no’ on Central Lake marijuana proposal

To the editor,
This letter is to encourage voters in the Village of Central Lake to vote ‘No’ on Proposal 19-1 on March 10.  This proposal would allow 10 marijuana growers and two processors within the Village limits.  These processing buildings can be in the Village mixed-use area, which is a large portion of downtown Central Lake, amongst established homes and businesses. Research in other communities shows that each of these facilities will house hundreds of plants which require 24-hour-a-day grow lights and water, draining our resources. The water from these operations creates humidity, which destroys the buildings’ interiors, and the waste runoff has a negative impact on our lakes.
