Village offers enhancement program to Holiday Acres residents
BELLAIRE – During a brief monthly business meeting last week, the Bellaire Village Council was updated on both the upcoming sewer project and the neighborhood loan program now available to residents of Holiday Acres.
Called the "Neighborhood Enhancement Program," the statewide MSHDA-funded program provides funding for improvement and beautification of Michigan neighborhoods of owner-occupied single family homes. It was decided to offer the opportunity to Holiday Acres residents because that subdivision met the program’s specific criteria, and could be helpful in the purchase of playground equipment.
Informational letters were sent out to all Holiday Acres residents, with one interested response received so far.
As it has for some time now, the village continues to complete paperwork required to apply for the USDA's Stormwater, Asset Management, and Wastewater (SAW) Program grant that the village council is hoping to receive for its upcoming sewer renovation project. SAW grants, if awarded, can be for as much as 100 percent of a municipality's cost for sewer system improvements and replacements.
