Village council receives good news with annual audit report

KALKASKA — The Kalkaska Village Council got some good news at its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Aug. 15.

The council was presented with and accepted an annual audit report for the 2019-20 fiscal year as completed by the Grand Rapids-based Gabridge & Co.

Joe Verlin, who presented the audit, said there were some challenges in completing the report, with the two sides often having to communicate electronically due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. 

“The village staff did a wonderful job presenting us with the needed information,” Verlin said. “We certainly commend the staff.”
