Village cleanup
KALKASKA — Considering the makeover of downtown Kalkaska, with the construction and redevelopment of the 300 Block of South Cedar Street, now called Railroad Square, Kalkaska Village Council member Bob Bishop is hoping business owners and local residents will join him in helping tidy up other areas of the village.
Bishop helped organize a similar effort earlier this year, focusing on the 300 Block of Cedar Street and Chalker Park.
And, with winter approaching, Bishop is organizing a “Village of Kalkaska Fall Cleanup Day” for 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 17. Volunteers are asked to meet at the municipal parking lot near the intersection of Third and Walnut streets.
