Third quarter the difference in Lady Lancers’ win
ELLSWORTH — All it took was one convincing third quarter stretch to lead Ellsworth’s girls basketball team to a win in its season opener on Monday.
The Lady Lancers outscored visiting Harbor Light 12-1 in the third, breaking open a nip and tuck game in the first half for a 32-28 victory.
Ellsworth was a different team coming out of the half, shutting down the Lady Swordsmen, while also coming up with its best offensive output of the game to quickly turn a 15-14 halftime deficit decidedly toward the Lancers’ favor.
