Standerfer retires as Elk Rapids AD and assistant principal

ELK RAPIDS — Jim Standerfer, Elk Rapids athletic director since 2002, has retired from the position as of June 29.

Standerfer graduated from Elk Rapids in 1989, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball and still holds the record for three pointers made in a basketball season with 73.

Standerfer attended Michigan State University after graduation, earning a bachelor’s degree in science while majoring in Agriscience Education, and earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University.
