Somers, Derrer and Fischer receive all-state honorable mention

BELLAIRE — The performance of the Bellaire girls basketball team was not overlooked by those handing out all-state accolades.

The Eagles had two players and head coach Brad Fischer named to the Associated Press Division 4 all-state honorable mention list.

Senior Libby Derrer and freshman Jacey Somers were Bellaire’s two players represented on the all-state squad, which featured 12 first team picks, five second team selections and 34 honorable mentions.

Bree Salenbien of Adrian Lenawee Christian was tabbed as the Division 4 player of the year. Ubly’s Joel Leeipprandt was the coach of the year.
