Side Bar - Water Trail a win - win mode for the area

Paddle Antrim has only been around since 2014 but already has done a lot to bolster paddle sports on this area’s chain of lakes as a way to encourage safe and responsible use of this unique waterway. That is basically its primary mission.
One of the organization’s aims is to improve access to the waterway and toward that end, it is embarking on a program to develop the Chain of Lakes Water Trail. “A Water Trail,” as described on the organization’s website “is a designated route along a river, lake, canal or bay specifically designed for people using small, non-motorized boats like kayaks, canoes, single sailboats and rowboats. These trails are the aquatic equivalent to a hiking trail. Water Trails typically feature well developed access and launch points, are near significant historical, environmental cultural points of interest, and often include nearby amenities such as restaurants, hotels and campgrounds.”
