Residents, families appreciate improvements at Lakeview Cemetery
BELLAIRE – The lawn is never allowed to get shaggy, the gravestones are carefully edged, trees and shrubbery are all trimmed up and there’s no more debris on the lawn or in the pathways.
Bellaire’s Lakeview Cemetery is looking good. According to many, better than it’s looked in years.
“All it needed was a little attention – someone to look after it regularly,” said part-time Bellaire DPW employee Steve Alger last week.”
That happened in early May, when Alger, a retired contract engineer and father-in-law of DPW employee Brad Keiser, accepted a part-time position working for the Village of Bellaire doing maintenance at the cemetery two days a week.
