Please support upcoming millage for Antrim Conservation District

Randy and Bonnie Johnson - Custer Township

To the Editor:

Antrim County is blessed with many beautiful forests, farmlands, lakes and streams. At the forefront protecting and enhancing these resources is the Antrim Conservation District (ACD). The ACD provides forestry management as well as soil and shoreline erosion support for both public and private lands. It also has a Community Education and Outreach program which operates a website, Facebook page, summer camp for children, essay contests for school age students, and various conservation topic seminars. The ACD manages eight countywide household recycling sites and holds three annual household hazardous waste recycling events, keeping tons of waste out of our landfills. In addition, they manage or co-manage many trails, parks and natural areas including: Glacier Hills, Antrim Creek, Cedar River, Mohrmann Park and Wetzel Lake.
