Outgoing trustee proud of effort to increase transparency

KALKASKA — D. Allen White had several goals when joining the Kalkaska Village Council and the outgoing trustee has accomplished many of them.

But, village residents and others will literally be able to watch his efforts to increase transparency in local government for years to come, despite White no longer being a member of the council after losing his seat in the recent general election.

In recent years, White has spearheaded an effort to video council and other village governmental meetings and have those available to residents online via YouTube.com.
