BELLAIRE — One recount of a county Commissioner's race may take place, but despite concerns about long lines and other COVID-19 induced issues, there were no real problems in last week's primary election, Antrim County Clerk Sheryl Guy said earlier this week.

"It really went pretty well, according to the township clerks I have spoken to," said Guy on Monday.

Although the election was not officially certified by Antrim County's four-person Board of Canvassers until Monday afternoon, the board comprised of Janice Olach, Linda Travis, Jim Gurr, and Greg Valerio was simply double checking everything in light of the possibility of a recount of the District 6 Commissioner's race between incumbent Brenda Ricksgers and Helena Township resident Gary Lockwood, Guy said.

The BOC was also waiting on other information, such as Milton Township's list of absentee voters, which needed to be compared to the township's list of absentee voters. The list was delivered Monday morning.
