Officials want quick resolution to treasurer’s suspension

KALKASKA – The Village of Kalkaska still is without an active treasurer. And, members of the Kalkaska Village Council are pushing for a quick conclusion to the indefinite suspension of treasurer Jennifer Standerfer, who was relieved of her duties on Dec. 22.

Trustee Penny Dupuie brought up the issue of Standerfer’s suspension at the council’s regular meeting Monday, Jan. 8, asking if reportedly missing credit card receipts had been accounted for.

“We are following up on that to see if there are any outstanding,” said Scott Yost, village manager.

Standerfer reportedly canceled credit cards issued to Kalkaska Department of Public Safety personnel because of alleged missing receipts. That apparently led to confrontations with Yost over her actions.
