With no snow, races down Carly’s Hill reset for Feb. 10
FIFE LAKE – No snow? No problem. Well, kind of.
Nearly 300 people gathered again at the Springfield Township Park & Recreation Area for the sixth annual Carly’s Hill Snow Fun Day Cardboard Classic on Saturday, Jan. 27. But, while all seemed to have enjoyed themselves, those who showed up with sleds made of cardboard, duct tape and their own creativity will have to wait to race down Carly’s Hill and compete for prizes.
Because of the unseasonal weather, the distant run portion of the cardboard sled derby – as well as the competition for the best wipeout – was rescheduled for noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. That’s because there simply wasn’t any snow on Carly’s Hill for the competitions to be held this past weekend.
