Mediation hearing set, offers chance to settle lawsuits between village, employees
KALKASKA – The Village and Kalkaska and a handful of former and current employees have been waging a legal battle for nearly three and a half years. But, another attempt at mediation could offer an opportunity to finally bring that fight to a close.
According to village officials, the two sides are set to attend a mediation hearing on March 15 and/or March 16. That reportedly will further delay a potential trial that was first scheduled for late November 2017 and then again for later this month.
“They stipulated and agreed to delay (the trial),” said Scott Yost, Kalkaska village manager. “Both sides did.”
