Ray and Rosemarie Mills, two of the founders and longtime board members of Area Seniors, Inc., along with fellow longtime board member and co-founder Bertha Baker, are stepping away from the group at the end of this year.

BELLAIRE – Members of Bellaire's nonprofit Area Seniors, Inc., organization will see some big changes in January after longtime board members and co-founders Ray Mills, Rosemarie Mills and Bertha Baker step down from the group's board of directors.

Ray Mills, who has served as the organization's president since the group's organization in 1994, said that he and his wife were looking forward to more time with their family, who are now spread throughout the country.

"We want to be able to do more things with our eight grandkids and four great-grandchildren," said Mills, who will turn 80 next year. "And have more time for us.

"And it's time for some new blood – younger people with new ideas – on that board," he stated.
