BELLAIRE – Three members of a Bellaire family accused of animal cruelty and abandonment will face trial after being bound over to 13th Circuit Court.

The Antrim County Sheriff's Office and Animal Control executed a search warrant on Sept. 13 at the home of Jack Hosler, 68, Michael Hosler, 47, and Myrtle Hosler, 70, at 208 Mound St. in the Village of Bellaire, where eight cats and three dogs were confiscated for neglect.

Animal Control had previously responded to complaints from neighbors regarding the situation in the Hosler home several times, where officers picked up stray and sick cats that had strayed from the residence.

Since 2005, a total of 92 cats and kittens were taken to the Antrim County Animal Shelter from the Hosler residence.

The Hoslers, all of whom have been charged with animal abandonment and cruelty were arraigned on Oct. 17 in Antrim County's 86th District Court by District Court Judge Michael Stepka.

After setting bonds of $5,000 personal recognizance for Jack and Myrtle Hosler, and a $25,000 bond for Michael Hosler, Stepka bound all three over to Circuit Court, where they have been arraigned and scheduled for trial on Jan. 3, 2019 in front of 13th Circuit Court Judge Thomas Power.
